YGW at Boston GuitarFest 2021

Do you know what your little guitarists will be doing this summer? Boston GuitarFest 2021 will begin in less than a month, and YGW is one of the programs offered.

Workshops, private lessons, and access to concerts are all included with registration. Private lesson time preferences will be accommodated. Workshops include Rockshop, improvisation, creating a guitar app, discovering the Kite Guitar and more!

June 17th-18th (Thursday, Friday) YGW Schedule

  • 8:00 a.m. Boston/Shanghai for audit (optional)
  • 9:00 a.m. – noon Private Lessons with YGW Faculty**
  • 12:00–2:00 p.m. Lunch Break
  • 3:15 p.m. Rockshop with Jim Davidson
  • 4:15 p.m. Improv workshop with Lautaro Mantilla
  • 5:15 p.m. Special workshops***

June 19th-20th (Saturday, Sunday) YGW Schedule

  • 8:00 a.m. Boston/Shanghai for audit (optional)
  • 9:00 a.m. Special Workshops***
  • 10:00 a.m. Rockshop with Jim Davidson
  • 11:00 a.m. Improv workshop with Lautaro Mantilla

**For students who are still in school on the 17th and/or 18th, we can accommodate private lessons for the afternoon. If this is the case, please let us know immediately after registration at workshop@ygwboston.org

***Topics for Special Workshops:

  • Thursday = “Guitar Talks” with Will Riley
  • Friday = “Vibrant Harmonies on the Kite Guitar” with Team Kite
  • Saturday = “Create a your own Guitar App” with Devin Ulibarri (Highly recommended to participate with a laptop/desktop computer)
  • Sunday = “Guitar Expression with Vibrato” with Adam Levin

2019 March Workshop Coming Up!

Happy New Year to all from the YGW team!

We are excited to announce this year’s March workshop, which will be held at the Fiorentino Community Center in Brighton, MA.

We are excited to work with the kids to help them achieve their musical goals in a social setting. Please register by January 27th to take advantage of the Early Bird Discount and to help faculty plan well for grouping students in their respective ensembles.

Dear Families, The fall is here, everybody is already thinking about what costumes we will be wearing, how much homework we have, and the Red Sox getting into the playoffs–the whole nine yards. As for team YGW, what are we thinking about? We’re thinking about our next YGW weekend workshop! We are hosting our winter workshop from November 4-6, 2016.  This time around we will be gathering at the Fiorentino Community Center, a wonderful community center in Allston that has graciously offered us their space. So, what do you expect?

Dear YGW Families: Young Guitarists’ Workshop faculty would like to wish you all a happy new year! We are proud to announce the first Young Guitarists’ Weekend Workshop from April 24-26, 2015 (Please note that the dates have been changed from the original April 3-6 schedule) sponsored by The Guitar Shop of Johnson String Instrument.  It’s finally a reality. This April weekend workshop will unite our growing YGW family for a weekend of guitar ensemble activities, masterclasses, technique workshops, and performance opportunities. It’s going to be a blast and we want you to be part of it!Here is a brief outline of the schedule: Friday, April 24, 2015 6:00-6:30PM: Registration 6:30-8:30PM: Ensemble 8:30-9:15PM: Faculty Concert 9:15 PM: Pick-Up   Saturday, April 25, 2015 5:30-6:30PM: Ensemble 6:30-7:00PM: Dinner 7:00-7:45PM: Masterclass 7:45-8:45PM: Ensemble 8:45-9:45PM: Movie Night and popcorn (Younger participants have option to leave) 9:45PM: Pick-up   Sunday, April 26, 2015 10:30-12:30PM: Ensemble 12:30-1:15PM: Lunch 1:15-2:00PM: Dress Rehearsal 2:30-4PM: Concert If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write us at ygwboston@gmail.com.
